Traditionally made with a combination of Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water, it is typically served in a rocks glass over ice and garnished with an orange twist. This cocktail dates back to the early 1860 and has connections to American expatriates in Italy, hence its name. It is a popular aperitif, appreciated for its ability to stimulate the appetite before a meal while offering a balanced, aromatic experience.
